KSE makes nominal gains (03092008)

KARACHI: Lean activity was witnessed at Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) on Tuesday as 100-Index gained 19.36 points to close at 9,229.15, reports said.
The turnover volume was also thin at 8.882 million shares as prices of 57 scrips recorded gains and 43 sustained loss while 99 remained unchanged.
The market capitalisation was improved by Rs 6.1 billion to Rs 2.888 trillion.
A dealer at a leading brokerage house said that lean activity was witnessed as investors shown lackluster attitude towards the market.
They are waiting for the outcome of the election of President of Pakistan, he added.
Zeal Pak was the volume leader with a turnover of 1.642 million shares followed by NIB Bank 1.113 million shares, Fauji Fertilizer (BQ) 0.463 million shares, HUBCO 0.339 million shares and Pak PTA 0.258 million shares.
HUBCO 22.78, Fauji Fertilizer 103.51, NIB Bank 8.45, NBP 93.02, Zeal Pak 1.16, PPL 209.70, PTCL 31.50 and UBL 68.25 Shell Pak recorded the highest increase of Rs 18.74 to 429.99 followed by IGI Insurance which moved up by 8.66 to 181.86 while Thal Ltd dipped by 5.60 to 127.30 and Shaheen Insurance went down by Rs 3.54 to 67.36.-APP
